Technical Spec for Spectrum Coatings Professional Spray Painting
Avkote is a Polyurethane/Acrylic paint (2-pack-system) which is especially suited for application to any PVCu based material, MDF and GRP.
- Quick drying and very scratch resistant, this paint exhibits very good resistance to weather, water and mechanical abrasion, as well as to 50% alcohol.
- Available in Pantone, RAL, BS, NCS, and S-NCS colours. Special colours can also be produced upon request and colours matched by spectrometer analysis.
- A gloss level of 30-40% (60∞–) is standard. Gloss level can be increased with the use of additional hardener to approximately 50-60%. High gloss can be produced by application of AVKOTE 1483 Clearcoat or AVKOTE SP.
- Only the best pigments are used which results in an extremely high resistance to fading.
- Due to its special formulation. AVKOTE does not require a primer on PVCu.
- AVKOTE has been used on applications in Europe for over 15 years. Reference sites can be inspected all over Europe as well as the UK.
- Tests by the South German Plastics centre (SKZ) confirm the high UV resistance of AVKOTE (full results table on request).
- AVKOTE bonds both chemically and physically to the material substrate for complete adhesion.
- Due to the two component system, the paint film polymerises and develops a surface which is very resistant to weathering. The long term negative effects of moisture and water vapour are therefore minimised. Accelerated tests by SKZ have proved AVKOTE weather resistant for over 10 years.
- Manufactured in a quality accredited ISO 9001 factory by Switzerland’s leading paint manufacturer AVKOTE is subject to continual product research and development.
